The characters in this book are horrible people and I eventually abandoned the book because I didn’t care what happened to them. They have no character- especially the male. He is a serial cheater who has no loyalty- how can he be a catch? He would cheat on her as he has every other girlfriend he has ever had and the main character is willing to be the other woman. Spoiler- he says he loves the main character but won’t break up with a girlfriend he says he doesn’t even like!!! The book is written as though the girlfriend is somehow manipulating them to be together- and if she is able to do that then the man is incredibly weak in addition to being a cheater. I did not read to the end because I do not like these people. Being rich, beautiful and smart does not mean they are good people. I found myself hoping that they both hit rock bottom.Product details

Let Be Just Friends A New Adult College Romance eBook Camilla Isley Reviews
This is the first in a series that follows a group of college aged kids as they navigate adulthood, school and love. I actually read the second book, Friend Zone first but reading them out of order wasn’t an issue for me, but naturally if you’re new to the series I would recommend starting with book one.
This is told via multiple perspectives but you mainly hear from Rose and Tyler with a handful of chapters from Georgiana and her brother Ethan. Rose and Tyler swear they’re “just friends” but the only people who truly believe that are them, it’s so blatantly obvious they have feelings for each other to everyone else, they’re in total denial. Rose is single but Tyler has a girlfriend named Georgiana and she’s bound and determined to keep her man away from Rose. There is a whole lotta drama going on between these three and then when Rose meets Ethan things get even more sticky.
I love Isley’s style, she writes the type of books that you can get lost in and finish in a few hours, there’s nothing complicated, well besides the characters relationships haha! They’re not too heavy and the drama makes for some great entertainment which is just what I need from time to time. Heidi Baker was a really great narrator, she had a super warm voice that was engaging and made me feel like I was listening to a friend talk to me about her crazy group of friends. Cute, uncomplicated and flirty would be the perfect description!
1.5 Short review with some spoilers.
I have never read a book that I didn't want a happy ending for any of the characters until this one. Since this is a short review let me tell you the main problem with these characters NONE of them should be in a relationship.
Rose- Is supposedly "in love" with her best friend Tyler the player. She's waiting for Tyler to quit his player ways and notice her, she gets upset at the fact that Tyler 'The Player' hasn't cheated on his girlfriend Georgiana once until he does with her. I didn't think that she loved Tyler at all she never comes out an tells him that she wants a relationship with him and wants him to quit his player ways.
Tyler- I gotta say for a guy who is suppose to be player who has string girls along and kicked them to curb when he know longer wants them he sure is weak. He doesn't want to be with Georgiana but wants to be with Rose but never has the balls to actually pull the trigger and break up with her. He's sudden turn of hearts about wanting to be in a committee relationship with Rose would have been believable if he actually ended the relationship with Georgiana instead of promising to.
Georgina- She is an insufferable witch who is desperate to hold on to Tyler she goes to the soap opera lengths to do it. Clearly she has never heard the saying if you to go to extreme lengths to keep him he isn't worth it. There was so many times throughout the book I wanted to slapped her and tell her to grow the hell up but then again I wanted to slapped all four many characters.
Ethan- I tried like him but like the other three characters I just found nothing likable about him. He's way to possessive and on one hand I get he got burned by his ex and his best friend but he was insufferable just like his sister.
All four characters needed to try celibacy and figure out what and who they wanted to be with and stop all the bed hopping and whining.
So honestly I am kinda surprised that I liked this as much, considering there is plenty of cheating and a love triangle going around.
I expected best friends become lovers story by the way, and we all know I adore those. This has it's own twist on it. Be prepared to be confused and shocked and happy.
Oh and for my dear reading buddies ( you know who you are)-a warning there is NO smut. Another surprise considering that most novels of this kind would have had the same story line and all, but filled the extra hundred pages with plenty of smut and would be sold as a full length novel. But honestly I didn't miss it one bit *smirks*
Isley did a brilliant job at having me confused as to what to think of Tyler. I adored him at the beginning. And then well, not so much...Actually that is an understatement. I really didn't like him.
Then at the end, I came back to liking him.
I felt the same for nearly every character. Meaning I kept changing my mind as to what I thought of them.
But not only did Isley get her way with me regarding the characters, same can be said about the story line.
If you would have told me half way through what the end was and that I would have loved it- I would have been beyond surprised. But somehow Isley got me there as well.
I do think this is due to the well crafted and well written story.
The character building is well done for such a short novel, it's well written and the plot is surprising.
It's simply a little different from what I expected but in a good way.
Definitely going to read more of Isley's works!
The characters in this book are horrible people and I eventually abandoned the book because I didn’t care what happened to them. They have no character- especially the male.
